Marketing Strategist · Writer · Editor
Let's give your marketing a plan.
I help small businesses turn great photos, video, websites, and apps into a clear message and a steady stream of customers.
Without the content hamster wheel, and without hiring six different people who've never met.
The media is done. So why isn't the phone ringing?
Most small businesses invest in the visible stuff first: a photo shoot, a video, a new website. Then they wait. When it doesn't add up to more customers, the instinct is to make more content, post more often, and try one more platform.
What's usually missing isn't more content. It's the message behind it, and a plan for where it goes.
When the strategy comes first, everything else finally does its job.
Hi, I'm Laura
I'm a bit different from most marketing strategists.
- 01
I've spent almost a decade inside a media company. I co-own DasFort Media with Tony Frantz. I've been in the room for hundreds of shoots, edits, and website builds, so I know exactly what the photographer, the videographer, and the developer need from your message.
- 02
I'm a writer first. Most marketing plans stop at the plan. I write the words too: your website, your blog, your newsletter, your bio. You get a strategy and the thing that makes it real.
- 03
I taught at a university in Beijing and spent seven years in Asia. Making something clear to people who don't share your context is the whole job. I've had a lot of practice.
- 04
I've ghostwritten a book. If I can hold a whole book together in someone else's voice, I can hold your brand voice together across a website, a blog, and a newsletter.
- 05
My clients stay. I've written for the same businesses for years, some for more than a decade. Most of my work comes through referrals, and I'd like to keep it that way.
How I can help
Strategy first. Then the words to carry it.

I build with DasFort Media.
I co-own DasFort Media with Tony Frantz. When your project needs photos, video, a website, or an app, DasFort builds it and I make sure it has something to say. You get one team and one conversation instead of six contractors who've never met.
